President Bush will Lose His Brain
Karl Rove, American President George W. Bush's advisor since before Bush ran for governor of Texas in 1993, is leaving August 31.
It's hard to overemphasize the importance of this move to the Bush Administration, and by extension to America and ultimately to any nation in the world. There's little doubt that Rove has been the primary architect of the Bush presidency. He is frequently referred to by the White House press corps as "Bush's Brain." There's even a book out by that name. Rove has been called the most powerful non-elected man in current American politics, possibly in all of America's history.
An example of how important Rove is to Bush is likely inadvertently shown in the article linked to below. When a member of the presidential cabinet leaves, a major news service article begins with something like, "Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld announced today that...." The person's position is almost invariably listed in the first paragraph. In this article, Rove's title of deputy White House chief of staff isn't mentioned until paragraph 16 (that's as of this writing--these articles are sometimes rewritten). What is emphasized is his importance to Bush.
Personally, I've long seen Rove, who's known Bush since both of them were in their 20s, as Bush's brain. Since before Bush was elected president, I've told people to look at his eyes. When he's discussing politics, he wears a look of, "Am I saying this right?" Contrast that to his face as he discusses sports with bright eyes and a confident and knowing smile. I believe Bush knows sports; I don't believe he understands politics.
It's hard to tell what effect Rove's leaving will have on the last 1 1/2 years of Bush's lame-duck presidential administration, and on Bush himself. Without his primary advisor, who or what will fill the vacuum?

Another question created by the impending departure is, will Rove be more influential after he leaves the White House?

Bush has been Karl Rove's puppet for many years. He's the dumbest president in the history of America. Now that the Puppet Master is leaving, who's going to pull Bush's strings?

President Bush will be lost without his brain! I can see him as the Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz singing:
"If I only had a brain."

What I see in Bush's eyes when he talks is "How did Clinton get all the girls?"

The big question here is, what will happen next? Nature abhors a vaccuum, and one will be left by Rove's departure.
It's obvious even to Bush's allies that he's not very bright. But presidents don't have to be smart or understand very much, they just have to look and sound good on TV. Bush fails even there, but at least he tries.
And that's where I disagree with both sides. I think Bush is ignorant and stupid, sure, but I also think he's a nice guy. He did commute "Scooter" Libby's sentence, after Libby was forced to take a fall for Rove. Bush is just being mis-manipulated by his handlers. But now that the good ship Bush Administration is sinking, they're cutting their puppet captain's strings and abandoning his ship like rats. Bush is left alone to go down with his ship.
What will he do now that his head puppeter is leaving? He can't do too much, not with hostile Democrats in majority and formerly friendly Republicans against him for fear that supporting him would hurt them in the next election.
Who will take over control of Bush? You can't gain much manipulating an unpopular, lame-duck president, which is why Rove is leaving. We all know that "spending more time with my family" is never a reason to leave an important and powerful position.
But President Bush is stuck. I don't envy him right now. Actually, I pity him.

Why does everyone hate Bush? Bush is not stupid or he never would have been elected president! EVERY president has advisors. NOBODY knows everything. Would people stop getting on Bush's back for a change? If nobody likes him, then why did he get elected TWICE?

I don't think everybody thinks Bush is stupid. But really people voted and then changed their minds when they learned more about him. I don't think they really understood what was happening especially with the war in Iraq. It wasn't about weapons of mass destruction it was about getting their oil.
I didn't vote for Bush or against him because I wasn't 18 then. But I am 19 now. I really try to learn about the issues and the people before I vote on them. Did you know you don't have to vote on everything? You can vote on some people and issues and leave others blank if you really don't understand them.
If people really understood about George W. Bush before they voted, I think a lot less people would have voted for him in the first place!

Saw this on Wikipedia. Rove has orchestrated the elections of many officials, including two presidents. Then he orchestrated the George W. Bush administration.
We lost a lot of freedom at the hands of our greedy government after Sept. 11. Now we'll go through it all again with the anniversary. Will they use it to take away even more freedom?

Can you really not vote on every proposition or candidate? In America? Somebody know if that's true?

It's true. In America, you don't have to vote on everything on the ballot. You can vote for just those candidates and propositions that you have a definite opinion on. You can leave the rest blank.

I only vote for the really good candidates. That means I vote on issues but haven't voted for a candidate in 10 years.

So how is Bush doing without his brain? Anybody notice a difference? Other than now he's a little light headed.

President Bush is a puppet. Anyone with half a brain knows that. Now that Bush has lost half his brain, maybe he'll know it too!
