13 Year Old Father to be Taught about Birds and the Bees
The father of a United Kingdom boy who impregnated a girl when he was age 12 plans to have a talk with his son about sex.
Dennis Patten, father of new father Alfie Patten, now age 13, decided it's time for an education. '"I will talk to him again and it will be the birds and bees talk. Some may say it's too late but he needs to understand so there is not another baby."'
The new mother is Chantelle, who was 14 when impregnated and is now 15.
Just another example of how effective it is to try to keep children ignorant about sex.

Yes, keeping children ignorant works really well. That's why there weren't any unwed mothers before the sexual revolution. It just never happened.

Children need to be taught responsibly, not just taught about sex. They need to learn that making love really is making love, and is only acceptable within the context of marriage.
If this boy had been taught that, he would still be a child and not a father.
We don't need babies having babies.

They tried that in the 1950s, Christian Andy. There were more pregnant teens per capita then than in the 1990s. Teens are going to have sex. You can't stop it unless you sew the girls legs shut. Even then the boys will bring shears.

Ignorance never works. You don't think people before the Internet or books couldn't figure out how to do it? And nobody had to train my cat.

Christian Andy if somebodys a father they really arent a baby! I know u want to help but teaching about sex or not teaching about sex wont stop it from happening. The best u can do is tell them about birth control so when they do it they wont have babies if they arent ready. U probably dont believe in abortion but thats an option too. But really its best if u dont get pregnant! I know a lot about sex and birth control Ive known about it for a long time. And Im still a virgin. I think u should know all about it before u ever have sex! That way ur prepared.

You know if the boy was 14 and the girl 12, he'd be arrested and a registered sex offender. Or maybe not in the UK. I guess they aren't as bad as America. Yet.

Theres so much pressure on kids to have sex these days. When I was a teen you could wait until you were 16 and everybody thought that was ok. Waiting until you were over 18 was a little weird. But nobody did it when they were 12 except for a few kids. Now you're expected to have oral sex in middle school or even elementary if not you're a prude. So sex is just the next step.

I think that father is practicing a wise principle.
Let's extend the reasoning. Let's not teach people to drive until after they have a collision. Let's not teach pilots how to fly until after they crash a plane.
Remember, a pound of cure is worth more than two birds in the bush.

I am not talking about keeping teenagers ignorant! I said they should be educated about being responsible. I did not say they shouldn't be taught about sex. They need to know what it is and how disease and pregnancy can result. But they need to be taught it is a sacred act that is saved for the sanctity of marriage.
