Same-Sex Couples Start Marrying in Washington, D.C.
The United States' capital now accepts same sex couples. Starting today (Tuesday, 9 March 2010), the District of Columbia joins Connecticut, Iowa, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont as the sixth place in America that allows lesbian and gay marriage. (California did briefly until a court decision was rendered moot by an amendment to the state constitution).
The same-sex marriage ceremonies don't conclude with being pronounced "husband and wife;" instead the happy couples are now pronounced "legally married."

Now they can marry in the capital! That is so cool. This time the feds are showing the way for the rest of the country.

People should be able to marry whoever they want. I'm very glad the capital recognized that. Marriage should be based on love, mutual respect, trust, and not on someone's personal views on sexuality.

So what happens if someone's legally married in one state, then moves to a state that doesn't recognize their marriage? What happens to their property, their kids?

This is not right. No where in the Bible does it say men can marry men and women can marry women. In America's capital this is a disgrace. America is a Christian nation, or it was. What is becoming of it?

America is a Christian nation? And where does it say that in the Bible?

You might accept same sex people, but would you want your daughter marrying one? When it's personal it might feel different. What if it's your own kids?

Dear Reverend Bootie
Why the Fourth Book of Enoch of course! ;-]

If this keeps going, someday you'll be able to marry anyone you want just because you're in love and want to build a happy, healthy relationship. That would be sick.

Loving the same
is not so insane,
so let them be married
until they are buried.

Funny, Alice!

What they do in the privacy of their own bedroom is their business. What they do in court is everyone's business. The law should not accept men marrying men and women marrying women. That's just wrong.
