Brother and Sister Plan to Have a Baby Together

‘I’m going to have a baby with my sister, and we couldn’t be more excited.’

Chalk that headline up as another one that’s not quite what you might think it is but gets attention.

“Funnily enough, there’s actually nothing remotely incestuous about my sister and I planning to have a baby together,” said Australian Samuel Leighton-Dore.  Samuel identifies as gay, and he and his partner Bradley Tennant wanted to have a child with both of their genes.  As science isn’t yet quite up to converting sperm into eggs, Samuel’s sister Bronte is providing the egg.  They plan to have someone else be the surrogate mother.

In spite of the planned non-incestual arrangement, this is already stirring up controversy not only about incest but about the option of adoption.  While we aren’t experts on Australian laws on children, biologically it seems Samuel may essentially be adopting his sister’s biological child.

In any case, we wish them and any future children well.

Sex is Like a Cup of Tea

How is having sex like having a cup of tea? If they wanted tea last week, does that mean they want it now? What if they wanted it an hour ago? What if they asked for it when they were awake, but now they’re asleep? Watch this (clean) video to find out.

Here’s How We Can Stop Racism

Jake Estrada

My Facebook friend Jake Estrada posted this on Facebook:

Here’s how we may be able to stop racism, and finally come forward as people. You stop talking about how you are white, black, purple or any other color out there. I stop calling you a white woman or man, you stop calling me a Puerto Rican man. I know you by your name. You know me by mine. We stop referring to other people by their ethnicity, we embrace the fact we are human. Now this may be hard for some to do right away, this may be difficult as we have had centuries of mental training to cling to our racial/ethnic backgrounds. Yet we can start today one day at a time, an embrace our uniqueness as people and fight for a better tomorrow for our children and their children. WE CAN DO THIS.

America is Better than Everybody Else

If you haven’t noticed, we’re moving close to the Fourth of July, the American Independence Day.  While the phrase is rampant all the time, this is especially the time to hear, “America is the greatest country in the world.”

Ever stop to think how that sounds to non-Americans?  (Of course if you aren’t American, you have).  What does it literally mean?  It means Americans are better than everyone else.  In other words, every other country in the world is inferior to America.  It’s an insult to the world.

Do an online search for “Greatest country in the world” and (as of five minutes ago) you’ll see articles either saying America is the greatest or America is not the greatest.  They’ll almost all be about America.

America is a superpower.  Russian President Vladimir Putin recently said America is “probably the only superpower.”  But the “land of the free, home of the brave” is consistently not listed as the greatest in personal freedom, in economic freedom, in freedom of the press, in education level, in medical care, or in having law-abiding citizens (instead it has the highest prison population rate in the world).

But America is the greatest country in the world.  So is Russia.  So is China, and the United Kingdom, and Israel, and Egypt, and Iran and Iraq and every other nation in the world to someone.

If you want to praise America on the 4th of July, by all means do so.  But consider saying, “America is the greatest country in the world–to me.”

Where’s The Blogs?

As of right now, you may notice there’s almost a year gap between blog posts.  Yes, we’re aware of it, and yes, we’re working on it.  We had something of a glitch ($%&!#X!) in doing an update.  It’s in the process of being fixed, so please bear with us while we work to restore the missing posts.

In the meantime, feel free to check out those classic blog posts below

Update 2016 07 14 #1: We’re getting more back up.  Check below!

Update 2016 07 14 #2: A goof in our supposed fix didn’t allow any new comments on any posts, even the new ones (old ones often disallow comments to avoid spam buildup). We believe we have the problem fixed. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Beauty is in the Eyes of the Beholder

Lizzie Velasquez was born with an extremely rare medical condition that keeps her body from storing fats. In addition to being severely underweight, she is also blind in one eye. She was cyberbullied but stood up for herself. You can too!

Are you beautiful? Believe you are and you are.

People who are hurting want to hurt others. Don’t do it because it won’t make you feel any better.

Lizzie Velasquez, who is blind in one eye and has a condition where her body doesn’t store fat, was cyberbullied. But she stood up to it and has wonderful ideas how you can too. She’s great at TEDxYouth@Austin Be free to be beautiful!

Breastfeeding Two Girls is Beautiful

Chelsea Craig, the mother in the images, is shown breastfeeding her two daughters, Addy and Emilynn, in photos taken by professional maternity photographer Mae Burke.

Photos of a mother breastfeeding her two daughters is going viral. The photos taken by Mae Burke show Chelsea Craig breastfeeding her little girls Addy and Emilynn.

Some people are upset because you can see her breasts, including her nipples in some shots, and some people are upset because one of her daughters is no longer a toddler. Well guess what? Breasts don’t have an expiration date. There’s no warning saying when you’re supposed to stop using them. And whoever decided women’s chests are sexy and men’s aren’t was probably a heterosexual man. Let’s get over ageism and sexism and let life be beautiful.

I Am Reverend Loveshade

sister_creamy_bhs

I Am Reverend Loveshade. Isn’t everyone? (Image is from the music video for “Black Hole Sun” performed by Soundgarden.  No threat to its copyright is intended.)

If you don’t know, there’s a paranoid conspiracy theory that everyone who mentions Reverend Loveshade without grossly insulting him must be Reverend Loveshade.

And if you don’t know, almost nobody who doesn’t know me IRL believes my name. Is my name really Miley Spears? Yes. Is that the name I was born with? No.

I had to show my driver’s license to stay on Facebook when they had the “fake name purge.” I’ve posted my SCA membership card, PETA membership card, ASPCA membership card, ACLU membership card, and more online. When they accepted my SCA name (Ariel Lovechild) and device (with a pentacle and a mermaid), it threw out a precedent and set a new one here. I’m an admin at Discordia Wiki and SubGenius WIki and Peta Wiki and wrote featured articles at Uncyclopedia and Uncyclopedia (two different ones), and a Wikipedia editor.

I was accepted by Order of the Pineapple (so was Reverend Loveshade) and the Knights of Buh. There’s an article about a protest I did in Minnesota, my college career, and more online. See also this.

Who’s been accused of being Reverend Loveshade? Miley Spears, Pope Hilde, Adam Gorightly, Gypsie Skripto, Brenton Clutterbuck, Dr. Howland Owll, Dr. Howl, Alan Moore, Robert Anton Wilson, Alden Loveshade, Greg Hill, Kerry Thornley, Sheered Völva, S. John Ross, Richard Nixon. (Feel free to add to the list here if you think of someone else). I know three of these who really did write as Reverend Loveshade at one time or another, but I don’t think all of them did! And some of them were accused after they were dead!

One of the people on that list got served a certified legal notice from my family, then posted online that he was wrong about me being an prostitute and I was not Reverend Loveshade.

But if they want me to be Reverend Loveshade, fine. I Am Reverend Loveshade. Isn’t everyone?

So spread the word! Post that you’re Reverend Loveshade, or that somebody else is Reverend Loveshade. Make a list!

Women’s Chests are Obscene

Princess Unicornia (Lorien Loveshade) painted by Gypsie Skripto. Image had to be censored for  Discordian Wiki because it included painted nipples which Wikia.com staff considered violated Terms of Use.  The ToU doesn’t allow images staff consider to be “obscene or pornographic.”

“Who decided it’s OK for Vladimir Putin to parade around topless but not women? And no, this is not licentiousness, or sluttiness, or whatever. This is about fighting the message that it’s OK for society to sexualize women, but not for a woman to bare her body on her own terms.”

Ek-sen-trik-kuh Discordia 10 Year Anniversary

Cover of the pulled edition of Ek-sen-trik-kuh Discordia: The Tales of Shamlicht.

No, it’s not the 10-year anniversary of the book. Ek-sen-trik-kuh Discordia: The Tales of Shamlicht came out just a couple years ago–then was pulled from publication very, very quickly. (Obscenity? Plagiarism? Government Crackdown?)

And no, it’s not the 10-year anniversary of when it began. The earliest Discordian pieces written by Reverend Loveshade that appear in Ek-sen-trik-kuh Discordia were written in late 1994.

But it is the 10-year anniversary of Reverend Loveshade’s vision to begin the collection. The Rev. was in hiding on Mid Year’s day, 2 July 2005, on a friend’s small farm in Texas. That was where and when the dream vision of Cherub Princess Shamlicht to write the book came in a dream.

And though the book, which received blurbs from Alan Moore, R. Crumb, Robert Anton Wilson and Rev. Ivan Stang, was pulled, it appears Ek-sen-trik-kuh Discordia may return in 2016….
