U.S. Government Shutdown Day 10: Guess Who Still Gets Paid?

When the government funding shuts down due to a battle in Congress, guess who still gets paid?

Congress has one key duty in the Constitution — pass spending bills that fund the government. If it doesn’t, most functions of government — from funding agencies to paying out small business loans and processing passport requests — grinds to a halt. People should not be made to suffer because of government infighting. Like Rodney King said, can’t we get along?

  2. Miley Spears says:

So it’s OK not to pay other people but OK to keep the money for yourself? If your boss did that to you, you’d quit.

Isn’t the answer obvious? Stop paying congress for not doing their job!

if you don’t do your job
    you shouldn’t get your pay.
