Guest Blog by David Lee Summers

“Since the early days of science fiction, authors have explored the future of humanity and what other life might be out there among the stars. From cybernetics to spaceships to alien contact, future-focused sci-fi lets us explore complex issues while escaping from everyday life. Eighteen diverse visions of Expansive Futures have been gathered in a special collection curated by SFWA members, now available in a limited-time bundle,” says Nebula nominated and USA Today Bestselling author, Amy DuBoff.

  1. For every 100 “fantastic deals” I see, 1 might actually be fantastic. This is the one.

(And no, I’m not making any money off of this. I do know some of the authors, and think this is a great deal and wanted to share it.)

  2. TawTew the Naturally Perfumed says:

    That does sound great!

  3. Sinister Craven says:

That is fantastic! That could keep me in outer space for months.

  4. Dharma says:

Is the collection all science fiction or does it have fantasy too?

    • I just saw your question–my power and Internet have been down.

I honestly don’t know more about the collection than what’s in this article and on the website. It is called a Sci-Fi bundle, but the distinction between science fiction and fantasy can be pretty tricky, and has been the subject of debate even among top professionals.

For example, a story has a young princess kidnapped by an evil black knight. An orphaned farm boy taught by a wise, mystic warrior goes to her rescue. Definitely fantasy, right? But throw in droids, star ships, interstellar travel, and a death star, and you have Star Wars.

  5. Bob45 says:

    Cool. Will check it out.

  6. Abelard d’Pésni says:

I do recognize some of those authors. including Amy DuBoff If this is legit, definitely good.

  7. Thanks to both Alden and David for spreading the word!

  8. DauwaBum says:

Watch The Host. Great sci-fi film.

  9. TGGR says:

Those supposed authors are all Loveshade. More Sockpuppet accounts trying to sell his books.

  10. MichaelG says:

    That is a great deal.

  11. Jaclynfed says:

I want to protect some of the original writing on my website & was wondering how to do this…. a)Can I put the Copyright notation on it without revealing my real name? . b)How do I have proof that it is my original work? How about saving the writing in MS Word?. c)Is there any point in copyrighting the articles/website?.
